Den fünf Sätzen dieser Parodiemesse liegen fünf “Lieder ohne Worte“ aus Leoš Janáceks Klavierzyklus “Auf verwachsenen Pfaden“ zugrunde. Der Komponist verzichtet auf die Vertonung des Credo und hält so die Form einer Missa brevis. Er beschreibt sein Werk als Parodie, Arrangement und Kontrafaktur und einer somit vollzogenen Metamorphose der Klavierstücke Janáceks.‘
