God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen

‚This Swing setting of a Christmas favorite is a great way to feature the gentlemen of your middle school or junior-high chorus in church or school! Staying comfortably within the changing-voice range, they get to imitate the sound of a “walking“ string bass as they lay the foundation for the tune, introduced by the young women of the choir. Then things are reversed, the sopranos and altos sing the “bass line,“ while the boys carry phrases of the melody. Complete with finger snaps and a whispered, “yeah“! As the ending punctuation, “cool“ is the only way to describe this number, which is guaranteed to be a hit with young teens and audiences alike!‘
