‚Eine herzerweichende Vertonung von Worten Unsere Lieben Frau von Guadalupe an den Hl. Juan Diego (in englischer Sprache). Der Legende nach erschien die “Madonna von Guadalupe“ 1531 Juan Diego mit dem Auftrag, ihr zu Ehren eine Kapelle zu errichten. Diese Erscheinung spielte eine wesentliche Rolle bei der Verbreitung des Katholizismus in Lateinamerika und Juan Diego wurde 2002 als erster Ureinwohner Amerikas von Papst Johannes Paul II heiliggesprochen.

Den Worten der Madonna von Guadalupe ist im Bass als canuts firmus ein Marien-Antiphon aus dem 14. Jahrhundert in lateinischer Sprache unterlegt. Zusammen ergibt sich folgender Text: “Listen, put it into your heart, most little of my sons …“ / “Sancta Maria, virginum piissima …“‘
