‘Jól is a serene and beautiful carol setting a poem by Sigurbjörn Einarsson, the former Bishop of Iceland (and Mist Þorkelsdóttir”s grandfather). In her setting, she tries to evoke what she calls ”the Christmas eve scene, the crisp and cool night air, and the sound of a newborn breathing”.’
