‚Heinrich Poos ist nicht der erste Komponist, den das Gedicht “Die Auferstehung“ von Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock zu einer Komposition anregte, verwendete doch schon Gustav Mahler diese Verse im 5. Satz seiner zweiten Sinfonie “Auferstehung“. Inspiriert wurde Mahler zur Verwendung eines Chorsatzes am Ende seiner Sinfonie auf dem Begräbnis des Dirigenten Hans von Bülow, in dem ein Chor einen Choral mit eben jenem Klopstockschen Text sang. Heinrich Poos schrieb sein ergreifendes Chorstück im Gedenken an den Organisten Hubert Schoonbrodt.‘
