‘Diese erstmals veröffentlichten Kanons dokumentieren Hindemiths Vorliebe, zu gegebenen Anlässen kleine parodistische Werke mit einem Augenzwinkern zu komponieren. Über 30 kunstvolle Stücke im ”Ansichtskartenformat” schrieb der Komponist. In kontrapunktischer Strenge verpackte er darin Weihnachtsgrüße, Glückwünsche zu Jubiläen und Danksagungen an Freunde, Kollegen und kulturelle Institutionen.

Nach dem ersten Band für Chor-a-capella ist nun der zweite Band erhältlich, der Kanons für gemischten Chor in Begleitung eines kleinen Blechbläserensembles beinhaltet.’

Originally an instrumental work, Swedish composer Gunnar Eriksson has created a remarkable experimental version for choir which is both deceptively simple and impressively powerful.
